Health Resources

We want our students to be healthy—physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and sexually.

We offer safer sex supplies at the LGBTQ+ Culture Center (in the back, next to the restroom). You can pick up condoms, both external (“male”) and internal (“female”), as well as instructions on how to use them and personal lubricant.

Positive Link of Bloomington offers free, confidential HIV testing at the LGBTQ+ Culture Center every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the academic year.

We also offer free counseling services. Priority is given to students, but services are also available for community members as spots are available. To learn more or schedule an appointment, e-mail glbtcoun@indiana.edu or call 812-855-0916 (secure, confidential inbox and voicemail). Our counseling intern is a master’s student at IU who is supervised by a local professional counselor.

Harassment is detrimental to mental health and emotional wellbeing. If you experience or witness harassment, you don’t have to keep it to yourself. Report the event to our qualified Incident Teams. These teams respond to incidents related to harassment or bias based on disability, race, gender, sexuality, and/or religion.

The IU Health Center offers a variety of health services, from medical checkups to support groups to nutrition advice.
